Therapy Rooted in Hope
Life can be complicated. Sometimes the difficulties we face today are connected to experiences from years ago. Other times, we're navigating new challenges we never expected.
I'm Paula Whidden, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Valencia, California.
I work with teens, adults, and couples experiencing trauma, anxiety, emotional distress, and relationship challenges. My approach combines evidence-based therapies with thoughtful conversations, practical tools, and a genuine interest in understanding your individual experiences.
Christian counseling is also available for clients who want to incorporate their faith into therapy. People of all beliefs and backgrounds are welcome.

Meet Paula Whidden LMFT, LPCC
Welcome, I'm Paula.
I've spent many years interested in understanding why people respond to life's experiences in different ways, particularly within their closest relationships.
That curiosity has shaped my work as a therapist.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, with advanced education from Hope International University and Fuller Theological Seminary.
My clinical training includes EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Gottman Method relationship counseling.
I enjoy working collaboratively with clients. While I bring clinical knowledge and experience into our sessions, I also recognize that you understand your own life in ways no one else can.
I won't assume that I know your story before I've heard it.
My goal is to create a counseling environment where you feel respected, where thoughtful questions are welcome, and where we can work together on the concerns you choose to address.
